What They Wore: Work Edition

Sometimes I think that I'm quite a fortunate "fashionista"; I get to wear whatever I want each day at work and there's not really such a thing as uniform. I can even roll out of bed and throw on my battered old converses, and last night's clothes that's still on the floor and not get judged (well, maybe a little. You know, until I redeem myself). I love the variety of people I work with and everyone dresses in their own little way!

My favourites today:

Carrying a casual English heritage look here! Loving the buttoned up shirt, casual chinos and the side parting.

The monocrome queen! Simple yet stylish. Cute ruffles on the sandles, too. Well done for painting those little toes coming out for sunshine play!

And this young lady always (effortlessly) gets it right! Loving the casual look and rolled up jeans. Ooo the frappaccino is looking at me. Might need one tomorrow.

What Was I Thinking? Flow With The White

Welp, today I decided to show some flesh seeing it was warm again enough to. Hopefully not too much that someone alerted the church elders. I've not had any holy water thrown on me, so I think we're alright!

GaGa Is My Religion

Lady GaGa released the video of the new song "Judas" a few days ago. And I'm not gonna lie, I was really excited and my pants tingled muchly. I quite enjoyed the video, and of course, there's already a stir of controversy and all that jazz in regards to the video, religion and anything else people can throw at you.

Personally, I didn't think that far into it. There are relations to several religious bits and such, but come on! The song is already called Judas, and listen to the lyrics! Anyway, here's some stills of my favourite bits:

I really like this shot, I'm not sure why! Is it the jewels, is it Jesus, is it the motorbike?! I really like GaGa's simple bold eye make up, which mirrors a little of the "Eye of Horus."

Lady GaGa is the modern Sacred Heart?? You can partially see the heart (above) and wearing the blue hooded cap, while she's rolling with her homes, Peter.

I also heart the little golden gun! Secret weapon with a lipstick.

Ah, so much GaGa goodness! For anyone that hasn't seen it yet; shame on you!! But, I'm gonna help you out and show it below. Enjoy!!

The Bohemian Twist

I really like these clashing pieces in Vogue's June issue. The guys at Vogue always know how to make clashing look great and actually decent. These are some of my favourite pieces:

The Fairytale Princess

In keeping with the same topic as my previous post, this is about wedding. If you're anti-wedding in any way, look away now.

Disney have teamed up with Alfred Angelo bringing classic Disney princess dreams to real life. The collection of seven is based on several Disney princesses, such as Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and a few others.

And each dress has the elements to each princess character! Can you guess which is which? Some of these dresses aren't what I would called amazing, but a few of them are definately simplistically elegant and stylish. I'm not of being ashamed I still love watching Disney films; they always cheer me up. Especially when I'm sick or in a foul mood. When I was young, one of my "ambitions" was to be a princess. And now I can... Once I save up for it!

Havaianas A Welly Fabulous Time

It's nearly that time of the year of Festivals again! Unfortunately this year, it appears that I won't be going to any because I couldn't get a ticket for certain ones or couldn't find elegable companions. I'm already super jealous from seeing all these pretty summer clothes, and knowing I won't be ruining mine this year.

An important part of your ensemble of being at a festival is of course, wellies! And Havaianas are doing their part for festivals with their own wellingtons. Saw them in Selfridges yesterday and they're super cute.

Contrasting coloured Havaianas. This is my favourite so far, and come in other colours, too!

Then we have the play it safe black ones, and these tropical little ones! Which ones will you be wearing this year and how will you be wearing yours?

What Was I Thinking? Intergalactic Pants

Outfit was totally inspired by Christopher Kane's 2011 Resort Collection. Well... At least my trousers were.

If I'm being honest, I'm not much of a Kane fan. Nor did this collection "wow" me. But the more coverage I saw, the more it grew on me. And seeing his collection being reworked and filtered into affordable prices for us normal homosapians, I "had to" buy me something from space!

The harem trousers are from my second home, TopShop. Oh I love TopShop. Threw on a off-brown vest, lace cardigan and suede wedges. I cheated and the black/gold plaited necklace is actually a hair tie. Talk about being versatile.

My hair is also at an annoying length since I cut it all off just over a year ago. And I have way too much of it. Just trying to get some of the layers off of around my face with a french braid. For some reason I cannot do an actual french braid, so it's like... an inside out braid?

Thank you Christopher Kane... For making me spend more of my hard earned money on buying spaceman pants.

Yohji Yamamato Exhibition

I took some time out of my day to go to Yohji Yamamato's current exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in one of my favourite cities; London.

Some people I know hate the hussle but I love taking time out in London. Wandering around, absorbing the culture, finding new places (or shortcuts or detours...!), sometimes spotting a few celebrity type people and my favourite past time... Shopping! I'm also quite fond of the V&A Museum and the building. The location and surroundings is one place I enjoy walking around in.

The exhibition basically showed you Yamamato's life with multi media and pieces from his men's and women's collections, and was a bit like a timeline of how he started up to the present. I loved being up close to his garments and being able to see all the detailing and his "unusual" way of pattern cutting that makes the style of his clothing. Here's a few of his pieces and bits around the museum:

Go check it out! Exhibition is shown until July 2011!

What Was I Thinking? Socks and Sandles

It was such a beautiful day today and I thought I'd wear my bit of spring before the sun goes into hiding again. A combination of a floral onesie, levis jacket, and I even braved myself to bare some legs to see the sun.

Nothing like a nice cup of tea and a vogue in the garden to enjoy the sun! I do feel hayfever season coming in fast. Sneeze attacks weren't so fun.

I love my "Ali" necklace from Tatty Devine. Birthday present from a few years ago but I still love wearing it. And I also bought new shoes a few days ago... Oops!! In my defense, they were from Primark and cheap! Yep... That's what I was thinking today.

Bold Like Flowers

Even though the clocks went forward an hour last Sunday and losing that one hour's precious sleep isn't something I favor each year, it makes it worth while to see the weather perking up a little, the sun shining for longer and getting really excited about shopping for more (unnecessary needed) summer clothes!

Two trends that I am loving in the shops at the moment are:

1) Rainbow Colours; what better way to enjoy the sun and fresh bright bold colours for that extra pick me up feeling. I am loving the clash of colours in the first photo set below and the retro style of this photoshoot. Love the Dior sunglasses (left) quite alot too. The photo on the right is again the right kind of clash of colours, as well as prints. Just fabulous.

I really like the sunflower yellow tones in the two outfits above. Again there are clashes of other colours, but alot more subtle. The shoes are pretty awesome too. Now I have to dig through my shoes and groom my little feet into killer heels again...

2) Florals; floral prints are in pretty much every year. Although it's a trend each year, it must be doing something right to still be a key trend and style for everyone to be wearing! I really like the casual look of floral prints in the first photo set below. Those cork wedge boots from Sergio Rossi (left) are also far too hot to trot! I need them in my life. Now.

Now this is a more romantic twist to the floral story. Beautiful draped materials, light sheer fabrics and I really like the mixture of floral prints with the harsher graffitti prints shown on the right photo. So these are my favourite trends and styles so far, what are yours?

What Was I Thinking? Granny Floral

After looking at the lovely ladies in my previous post, I realise how much I have been put to shame in what I wore. What can I say... I was carrying the old-bag-lady-pyjama-wearing look? I think it was my crack look; seemed like a good idea in my head - Thought it still looked alright - And then I stepped out of my door and there was no turning back. Welp... You be the judge, I guess.

I have a love for baggy cardi's. And it was something nice to throw on that wasn't a coat for once! And the trousers... I LOVE these trousers! From Zara, and just the most comfortable things ever!! Yep... This is what I was thinking.
