Music Of The Week - Various Cruelties

I've been slacking a bit with posts recently... Things have been a little busy over here and preparing for the Rapture that was meant to happen yesterday and all that. Seeing as we're all alive, here's my music of the week. Various Cruelties are a newly put together London band. Although they're still fresh, they've already supported Mumford and Sons, The Vaccines and Villagers.

The song is called "Neon Truth." Enjoy!!

GaGa Is My Religion

Lady GaGa released the video of the new song "Judas" a few days ago. And I'm not gonna lie, I was really excited and my pants tingled muchly. I quite enjoyed the video, and of course, there's already a stir of controversy and all that jazz in regards to the video, religion and anything else people can throw at you.

Personally, I didn't think that far into it. There are relations to several religious bits and such, but come on! The song is already called Judas, and listen to the lyrics! Anyway, here's some stills of my favourite bits:

I really like this shot, I'm not sure why! Is it the jewels, is it Jesus, is it the motorbike?! I really like GaGa's simple bold eye make up, which mirrors a little of the "Eye of Horus."

Lady GaGa is the modern Sacred Heart?? You can partially see the heart (above) and wearing the blue hooded cap, while she's rolling with her homes, Peter.

I also heart the little golden gun! Secret weapon with a lipstick.

Ah, so much GaGa goodness! For anyone that hasn't seen it yet; shame on you!! But, I'm gonna help you out and show it below. Enjoy!!

Music Of The Week - Ed Sheeran

It was a tough choice this week, but I stuck with my guns and my Music Of The Week is called "The A Team" by Ed Sheeran. He's a British singer/songwriter and has such a lovely tone in his voice! He's mingled with the likes of Jamie Foxx, Example and Just Jack.

The video and lyrics are a little sadface, but I think it's such a beautiful little song. Moral of the story - stay away from drugs!

House Of Love's Royal Wedding

The team at T Mobile have always created some great adverts with "impromptu" bursts of dancing and singing in the middle of busy landmarks. And there they've done it again with a bit of a twist! They've made a spoof of the Royal Wedding:

It's pretty lolz and some of the look-a-likes are really uncanny! Love the moves and some old school East 17!

Music Of The Week - SebastiAn

If my writing is terrible today, I apologise. It's my birthday today (and I can cry if I want to!) and... I'm not gonna lie. Just a little worse for wear. I did have a fabulous night, though! Thank you for asking. Anyway, enough of that. My MOTW is by a French artist, SebastiAn and the song is called "Embody."

SebastiAn has remixed for several other arists, some of my favourites include Uffie, Klaxons, Bloc Party and The Rapture.

I love watching this video. And it reminds me how we all have a little bit of a dancer inside us all! Enjoy. I'm off to have a few more drinks in the sun and drown my sorrows in being another year older.

Say "Yes" to Lucazade

So not only is everyone going crazy for the anticipation of Prince William and Kate Middleton's special day, there's also alot of excitement about the 2012 Olympics. I'll be the first to admit I'm not really too bothered about the Olympics. I mean... Come on, I get most of my cardio exercise from shopping for crying outloud. But then I saw this awesome awesome advert for Lucazade Sport!

I was curious to see what was going on. But it involves female boxer Katie Taylor, Tinie Tempah and the amazual drummer, Travis Barker. Have a see for yourself:

Ooo I think I need a sports drink now!

Music Of The Week - Metronomy

I've had this song on repeat for the past week and can't get enough of it! It feels like a blended mixture of upbeat The XX mixed with a little twist of Bloc Party. My song is called "The Look" by Metronomy; a band formed by Joseph Mount. They've remixed for several artists that include Lykke Li, Klaxons, The Young Knives and Architecture in Helsinki to name a few.

The song is from their album, "The English Riviera" and it's out tomorrow! I'm excited about seeing what else is on them album!

Music Of The Week - Jamie Woon

This week's song is "Lady Luck" by Jamie Woon showing us that the U.K. can still have some talent stowed away. There's something really nice about his voice, and Lady Luck can be found on his album, "Mirrorwriting" that's to be realised sometime next month.

I have to say I'm not overly keen on the video, but hope you guys enjoy a bit of Lady Luck on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Spring really is around the corner!

Music Of The Week - Lykke Li

I love music. Anyone who knows me knows this. I've been waiting in anticipation for Lykke Li's new album "Wounded Rhymes" to be released. Seeing as I couldn't tear myself away from my cardio exercise (my way of cardio; browsing and shopping for clothes), I ordered it online. It came today and has been on repeat!! I'm addicted to her second single "I Follow Rivers" and have been for a few months.

Her voice just entices me. And it's like hearing her "grow" from her first album "Youth Novels" which I still love listening to. An old favourite and also her first single, "Little Bit."

Enjoy!

Skinny Love

I heard this song on Radio 1 a few days ago on Fearne Cotton's show. This girl just has an amazual voice; for someone who's 14!! Just amazing. It's a cover of Bon Iver's "Skinny Love" and it's just absolutely lovely. Beautiful on a chilled out sunday. Enjoy!
